Managing the business operations of a large corporation requires care and attention, both in major transactions and the day-to-day details. Counsel can and will be called upon to guide senior management through the legal pitfalls of a wide range of corporate events, including but not limited to cooperative mergers, hostile takeovers, major global litigation, internal investigations, employee misconduct, and public relations crises. To be successful, inside and outside counsel must communicate effectively with company leadership, and must work with one another to manage efficiently the provision of legal and business advice. This panel will touch upon typical situations that many business leaders will confront, and describe from real world experience the planning, strategy and forethought that is required for both inside counsel and outside advisors to add significant value.
