This program will cover the legal and ethical issues involved when a lawyer is considering a move because his or her law firm or company appears to be failing. The concerns of senior and junior lawyers will be addressed, as well as the risks of the new employer. Much of the discussion will revolve around a movie about lawyers switching jobs. Some of the topics to be discussed include: Dealing with a failing firm or company; Concerns when hiring a lawyer leaving a failing firm or business; How to use a headhunter properly; Mining your contacts and using social networks; Keeping clients happy while moving; and what you can and can not disclose to prospective and new employer.
