An increasing number of New York litigators are turning to mediation as an effective way to settle cases when it is used in the right circumstances. In this program, a panel of distinguished litigators will give practical tips, illustrated with concrete examples, on how to use mediation successfully. Topics will include: Deciding whether and when to mediate, Suggesting mediation to clients and opposing counsel, choosing the best mediator for each case, preparing for mediation Writing the mediation statement, effective mediation advocacy and making settlement agreements binding
