A prominent faculty will discuss and take questions from the audience on a wide variety of the most current attorney inquiries that the Committee on Professional Ethics and Judicial Ethics has considered over the last three years of its work, emphasizing changes brought by the adoption of the Rules of Professional Conduct. This CLE is intended to acquaint lawyers with the Committee's work and assistance to lawyers by means of opinions, letters and Ethics Hotline issues. The faculty will also explain how the Rules of Professional Conduct, decisions and commentary are weighed in responding to ethics inquiries and through a series of actual concrete examples, will cover such topics as: attorney joint advertising, solicitation of clients, conflict of interests, financial assistance by counsel to client, automatic credit card billing, treatment of deposits in lawyer escrow accounts, issues affecting the retirement of counsel, attorney malpractice and other issues of current interest.
