(LIVE PROGRAM) Supreme Court - A Year in Review

During the October 2010 Term, the Supreme Court ruled on some of the most contested issues concerning protests at military funerals, sales of violent video games to children and the validity of class action prohibitions in arbitration agreements, making for an exciting "year in review." The term's arguments and decisions will be scrutinized for insights into the thinking of the Court's newest member, Justice Elena Kagan. At this program, a prominent panel of former Supreme Court law clerks, former federal prosecutors, constitutional scholars, litigators and a federal district court judge will examine, review and debate the leading Supreme Court decisions of the term and their impact on the future. The speakers represent diverse points of view and perspectives and will provide insightful discussions of the Court's decisions. The panel will specifically cover the Supreme Court's colorful docket this term which included major cases involving: The First Amendment (Snyder v. Phelps, Schwarzenegger v. Entertainment Merchants Association ) Procedure, Preemption & Complex Litigation (AT&T Mobility LLC v. Concepcion, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. v. Dukes and Bruesewitz v. Wyeth LLC ) Securities Law (Erica P. John Fund, Inc. v. Halliburton Co.) Intellectual Property (Microsoft Corp. v. i4i Limited Partnership) Criminal Law & Procedure (Michigan v.
