This program will provide transactional real estate practitioners a basic understanding and working knowledge of land use regulations affecting both developed and to-be-developed land in New York City. Participants will hear about the latest tools for land use due diligence screening for financings, acquisitions, debt purchases, and leasing and an overview of the agencies involved in land use regulation. Topics covered will include basics of zoning, including development rights transfers and inclusionary housing; identifying landmark buildings and issues associated with ownership and alterations; Department of Buildings role in the development process, including plan review and interpretive authority; and the Uniform Land Use Review Procedure and what to expect for a site that will, or has gone through, "ULURP".
